How To Create Positive Energy

Hello

Do you find some days draining? Not in a "wow that was a busy but productive day". But in a "I didn't do what I wanted get done, because of x, y, z"?

Here's some quick tips to help you feel more energised. This will help you get into a more positive mindset with your horse or dog care business.

  1. Let go of daily disappointments. You can't change what's happened. Use any "disappointments" as a learning experience.
  2. Practice gratitude. Be grateful for the day you've had - focus on what was good. At the end of the day find 3 things that went well. And be grateful for this. (Could be as simple as 'feeling well', or having customers, etc).
  3. Choose to spend time with people who “boost” you. Are people draining you? On a scale, would you say that they're positive, neutral (no difference either way), or make you feel drained and exhausted and troubled?
  4. Be intentional with your actions. What and who do you want to be in any particular scenario?
  5. Be kind. Kindness, giving “gifts” can help you to thrive. Instead of taking - why not give instead? This could be as simple as pausing whilst driving to let someone out of a junction or cross the road, rather than making them wait for ages.
  6. Remember to push yourself (not too hard!). But be the best that you can be, don’t choose mediocrity.

You may wonder, will the above help you feel more energised? Will you feel less disappointed? Yes they will make a difference. But consistency is key!

Action Point..
As with so much in life (and business), be consistent. Don't expect instant results. But every day, take action to be the best you can be. Do one (or all!) of the above.

How To Develop Your Self Belief

Hello,

Do you ever feel like you need to boost your self belief? Or are you feeling confident most of the time?

Many of us have 'wobbles', it's normal! But it can be easy not to do anything about our confidence. Especially when we're busy, and caught up in a routine of what can be work, eat, sleep - and repeat.

Here's a few of my top tips to help you develop your mindset.

  1. Surround yourself with people who have an abundant mindset. What do I mean? People who focus on what’s going well and not what's wrong. Their positivity and abundant thinking can rub off on you. Yes!
  2. Don’t worry about detail. It's easy to over-think. I know I can do this for sure! But overthinking about the details can lead to you becoming bogged down with negativity. (and worse not taking action). Remember to focus on your long term vision for your business (and/or life!).
  3. Bolster self belief by carrying out mindset rituals. Do these first thing in the morning for best results.
  4. Celebrate your successes. Love yourself more! Treat yourself - don’t feel guilty having a hot bath, drink. Do more affirmations, etc.

Action Point..
As with so much in life (and business). Consistency is key. Don't expect instant results. But every day, take action to celebrate being you. Do one (or all!) of the above.

How To Help Your Business With a Mailing List

Hello,

How do you feel when you receive an email from an organisation 'out of the blue'? I don't mean spam emails. But emails from companies whose mailing list you've signed up to, but you only hear from them once or twice a year?

I received an email from a company recently who I signed up to their mailing list ages ago. But they'd not sent anything for what must've been a year. My first thought was it's spam. Then I remembered it wasn't because I'd wanted to hear from them albeit a long time ago! It made me think. That they're not committed to developing a positive relationship with their customers. As it did seem like 'spam'. This isn't what any reputable business wants!

As someone operating your own business. When was the last time you contacted your mailing list? Do you even have one?

Why Bother With A Mailing List?

Although social media is great for building relationships with potential and existing customers. The social media platforms aren't owned by us. We don't set the parameters for our posts visibility. For instance. You're likely to be aware if you have a Facebook business page. That without paying to promote your posts you're unlikely to have them seen by many people.

Cultivating your own mailing list so people sign up to receive your updates. Means you can send emails to them when you want. Of course there's no guarantee they'll open them. But you've a greater chance of your subscribers seeing your emails. Unlike with social media. Where it's possible your posts are 'competing' against a multitude of other posts.

There's many email marketing management systems you can use. And which enable you to collect email addresses, (under data protection legislation). And automate and create and send emails. These include Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Hubspot and Infusionsoft, amongst others. Some of these offer free plans as well as paid. So do "try before you buy".

As part of your marketing strategy it's a good idea to decide on how often you'll send emails to your subscribers. You can test out what fits best for you and your audience, but try and be consistent. Whether that's weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Action Point 1 - If you've not got a mailing list, start one now!
Action Point 2 - If you already have, when did you last send an email? Have you got a schedule?
